Gabriel and Kennedi were orphaned at a young age and spent most of their formative years bouncing between foster families and group homes. When Gabriel turned 18 he had already been working at the local dump and had managed to get in good with forman. With a stable job he was able to get custody of Kennedi when she was a young teen.
