This is the father of all mastiff breeds. The progenitor of the St. Bernard, this dog grew to sizes we can barely begin to see, the biggest dog up to 1m (39in) high and 160kg (350lbs). Described to come in hues of dark browns to light brindles, this was a fierce, yet sleepy guard dog of Great St. Bernard Pass. This breed was attempted to be brought back in the 70's but failed.
