All was fine and dandy in the Hemmingsen family, until one day Ulla, (mother of Mgala and Joey), mysteriously disappeared. This left the two kids to live with their somewhat strict grandparents in the suburbs. The grief of losing her mother made Mgala act out, and one day she came home from high school with a hungry racoon and begged her grandmother to keep it as a pet.
