Inspired by my great-grandfathers long silver hair, I had grown my hair out and down to the middle of my back. It was fun while it lasted, but it finally became painfully and unmanageably tangly and knotty. The long locks at long last had to go. The goatee, too. Maybe when the silver has really set in.
