The Bernese Mountain Dog hails from the Bern, and were brought to Switzerland by the Romans; later still, America, and Canada, where the breed got recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club and American Kennel Club. They were used as all around farm dogs, and were known for their incredible strength. They tend to be a sensitive breed that does respond well to harsh tones during training.
