Midge was introduced by Mattel in 1963. She and Skipper were introduced in order to counteract criticism that Barbie was a sex symbol. She was marketed to young girls as Barbie's best friend and was a huge success! I gave her the aspiration of "Big Happy Family" because she was the star of the "Happy Family" line in 2003! In that toy line, Midge was seen having two children and they even sold a version of Midge that was PREGNANT (with major backlash, unfortunately). Enjoy! #KelseyMalibuBarbie
