W. Somerset Maugham wrote the novel Theater in 1937. The story is about a famous actress who falls in love with a 25 years younger clerk.There are so far only three movies based on this excellent story German 'Adorable Julia' 1962 Latvian 'Theater' 1978 (with english subs) and 'Being Julia' 2004 all excellent versions.
