Legendary Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley, nicknamed Grainne Mhaol from the Irish meaning 'Bald Grace'. She came to rule the waters around Ireland. It is said that when she asked to join her father sailing on one of his ships, he told her that her hair would get caught in the sails. She proceeded to cut off her hair and joined him anyway earning her her nickname. When her brothers and sons were captured, Grainne sailed to London, and got a pardon from the queen herself. #pirate #queen #irish
