Fairly recently recognized by the AKC, the Catahoula Leopard Dog is another working breed. Bred to help control the wild boar populations, they are surprisingly not as hyper as one might expect. They still need to keep their minds from wandering and need a consistent owner. Catahoulas can make good watch dogs.
