Cleo, Emma and Rikki became mermaids after falling into a moon pool on Mako Island during a full moon. They were teenagers then and had to deal with the challenges of growing up and hiding their mermaid identities. Now that they are adults, they moved to Sulani, where mermaids are more common and welcomed. They finally don't need to hide their identities and are able to be themselves anytime, anywhere.
