The Rottweiler is a breed that originated in Europe. First used by butchers to guard cattle, some were also used for herding cattle. In the 1900s the breed was used for police work, but eventually fell out of favor to the GSD. Sadly in the 80's the breed attracted some unsavory humans, which has led to some very unfortunate circumstances and reputation for the breed.
