Locals dare not speak of the haunting of Mt. Komorebi; to mention Ava Lanche is to risk her ghoulish glee. The failed mountain climber broke her every bone and died at the foot of the mountain frozen and alone. In death she became an oni of spite who curses hikers with frostbite. When the mountain shakes with the harshest snows, Ava is said to be reliving her death throes.
