It’s no surprise The Space Race (1955-1975) is best to be illustrated by Laika and Yuri Gagarin. Laika was a stray mutt from Moscow, and the first animal to orbit Earth. Unfortunately she died within a couple of hours from overheating. Yuri Gagarin was the first human in space, not due to his great successes in life or his wealth, but because of his ‘flaws’ and his attitude towards his superiors and fellow candidates. He died in a plane crash on 27-03-1986, when he was 34 years old. #GLovelysQCC
