Being a xenophysician on a space station is a dangerous job. First Mikel lost an arm while standing in the wrong place helping a Vrek give birth. Then he needed ocular implants after a Sslis, in agony, clawed him & sprayed corrosive venom in his face. Despite skin altered to protect him from various hazards, he'd been scarred & most of his face left oddly tinted as well.
