He immigrated from the southern state of Campeche, Mexico to Los Angeles, California. He worked as a machine operator for the Zippertubing Company for over 30 years, until the company moved to Arizona. He married his childhood sweetheart and had several daughters. Learned English as a second language when he immigrated.
