The TIbetan mastiff is an ancient breed, and it's true origins are not exactly known. It was only relatively recently accepted into the Canadian and American Kennel Club as a recognized breed. They come in two types, Do-khyi and the Tsang-khyi. They are not known for being good first time owner dogs.
