Rusalka are Siren like creatures from Slavic folklore. Often time they are portrayed as a type of mermaid. Some myths link them with the so called "Lady in White," which are the damned spirits of women who have drowned and haunt the rivers or lakes in which they died. Some tales are of scorned women who were betrayed by their lovers before they died.
