Leonid Brezhnev
#LeonidBrezhnev (19 December 1906 – 10 November 1982) was a #Soviet #politician who led the #Union of Soviet #Socialist #Republics from 1964 to his death in 1982. His time as the #leader of the #SovietUnion was second only to #Stalin's in duration. While Brezhnev's #rule was characterised by #political #stability and notable #foreign #policy #successes, it was also marked by #corruption, #inefficiency, #economic #stagnation, and rapidly growing #technological gaps with the #West.
