Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) is a policeman, widower and veteran of Vietnam, known dangerous for himself and for his colleagues, because he often makes extreme gestures at the edge of suicide. To limit it, he is joined by an experienced policeman: Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), next to th retire, with family and keen to avoid trouble.
