Dante was born to a single mother in the Deep South, also known as the "Bible Belt." This conservative, racist, religious community was less than hospitable to young Dante growing up. He was never traditionally masculine; his interests sat more with science and technology (such as computers and video games) than the typical, toxicly masculine, sports enthusiast, "tough guys" of his neighborhood.
