Alpine Mastiff
The Alpine Mastiff was a breed that went extinct in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is thought to be one ancestor of the current St. Bernard breed. They were a livestock guarding dog that was bred in the Italian alps. Some members of the breed made it all the way to England. It was one of the first true mastiff breeds. #Alpine #mastiff #large #dog #extinct #breed #purebred #guard
