Time Machine Morlock Eloi
The Eloi live a life of ease on the surface of the Earth while the Morlocks live underground, tending machinery and providing food, clothing, and inventory for the Eloi. This has caused the Eloi to slowly become dissolute and naive. They don't have a care in the world, until the darkness comes on a moonless night.
