Melody lost her parents in a car accident when she was 5.She came to live with her Granny Tilda who was a good woman but unaccustomed to the noises of children.She encouraged Melody to quieter activities like reading. This suited melody just fine because she could lose herself in the many wonderful places her books could take her.
